Combining modern technology with old world craft .

our process

From large millwork packages, to unique one-off objects, every project we take on is different, and every project has different constraints.

  • We are not a shop of individual departments, our business model is to look at a project as a whole, and have a consistent team working from estimation to installation.

  • Our work is completely custom, with no catalogs, brochures or modular systems.

  • All objects and elements are made to order, guaranteed as specified.

  • We deliver work anywhere and we ship only the finest quality fit and finish, without compromise.

  • Once a project is awarded, our Project Managers will work with the design team to develop finish samples & mockups (as needed) to begin imagining the material requirements of a project. While we have standard finishes typically offered, we are always excited to R&D new finishes and techniques particular to a designers vision. Please visit our Materials & Textures page for small sample of what we can offer.

  • No matter how simple or complicated, our experienced team of fabricators, machinists and project managers are here to help ensure that everything we make is of highest functional quality. We will work with the design team to develop attachment details, specify appropriate hardware, calculate weight loads & sheer strength. We mock-up most operable items in-house to ensure smooth operability and invite clients to experience first hand how it feels. Our team takes pride in tackling projects other shops are afraid to take on.

  • In addition to estimating, our project managers also do all of their own drafting. This wholistic approach ensures a consistent thread from conception of project to completion. In addition to providing architectural and coordination drawings for review, our team models nearly every scope item in 3D, ensuring no detail is missed and creating a simple communicable framework for design reviews and coordination meetings.

  • Project management at Salmon Studios is an all-encompassing job, following a project from estimating, through drafting and installation. Our project managers have a full understanding of a project at every step, and pride themselves on pro-active communication and problem solving.

  • Our experienced team of fabricators and machinists have diverse backgrounds with expertise in CNC machining, Mig & Tig welding, forging & brazing, combining modern technology with old world craft.

  • Our offerings in finely finished and textured metals are always growing, as we utilize traditional metalworking methods and invent some of our own. Custom finishes can be developed to match existing, or to create something totally special and unique.

  • Whether working on a construction site, or in a finished home, our experienced team of installers work to the highest degree of precision while maintaining a professional, respectful presence on a job site. Any item we are installing, we will also field dimension, ensuring perfect fitment, and work collaboratively with site supers and other trades on sequencing and material integration.
